Dead or alive, who would be your ultimate dinner party guests?

Dead or alive, who would be your ultimate dinner party guests?

The first one would be Oprah Winfrey. She definitely inspires me and I would love to meet her. Plus, her house is so big, we could just eat there. Her personal chefs could make us amazing food too. Oprah is so good at talking and understanding other people, if she’s at my party, I know there’s going to be an interesting conversation and a dive into someone’s personal life.

Two other alive people whom I would invite are Malala and David Letterman. I watched Malala being a guest on David Letterman’s show, and she is so interesting and funny. David Letterman is hilarious, and has a dark past Oprah could dive into. I would also invite Michelle and Barack Obama because who doesn’t want to meet them. They both have this fun energy which would make them good guests and they are both passionate in what they do. I think that if something got out of hand, they could calm everyone down if Oprah couldn’t.

Some dead people I would invite are Frida Kahlo and Katherine Johnson. I love Frida Kahlo, and I love her portraits. Her life was a little sad, she had a terrible injury, and she felt a lot of pain. But she also felt a lot of passion, her love life was crazy. I could finally figure out the truth about it. Katherine Johnson was the main character in Hidden Figures, a movie about three black women working in NASA. She was a genius, which is already cool, and she’s very humble. She lived a long life and I know that a woman like that would have wisdom for the other guests. I also might invite Toni Morrison and Maya Angelou, since my mom loves them. I could also ask them how they look at the world, their perspectives are bound to be interesting.

I would invite Hatshepsut and some philosopher. Aristotle would be shocked to know his physics theories were very wrong, so he would be a fun guest to invite. I might invite plato because of the Euthyphro dilemma (are things good because god says they are, or are things good and that’s why god says they are), but I might invite socrates because he was plato’s teacher. I couldn’t invite them all because I know they would start arguing about nerdy stuff, and this dinner party can only be a little nerdy. Anyways, Hatshepsut got married at age twelve and became the second confirmed egyptian queen. I would want to know about the gender roles and how she was treated at that time. Also, who doesn’t want to eat with a literal african queen? She and Michelle could be friends. My last guest who I don’t know personally would be Brutus. Julius Caesar is famous for saying “et tu Brutus?”, and I want to know what Brutus’s side of the story was. The philosophers would find it interesting.

My last and final guests would be my mother, my grandmother, and my best friend. I can’t have all these fascinating people to myself, now can I? Thinking about it now, I would have to have three nights of dinner parties so we could get around to all 15 guests. I’m not squandering my opportunity with any of them.

See you in two weeks, dear reader.
